About

"The leaves were long, the grass was green,
The hemlock-umbels tall and fair,
And in the glade a light was seen
Of stars in shadow shimmering.
Tinuviel was dancing there
To music of a pipe unseen,
And light of stars was in her hair,
And in her raiment glimmering.

There Beren came from mountains cold.
And lost he wandered under leaves,
And where the Elven-river rolled
He walked alone and sorrowing.
He peered between the hemlock-leaves
And saw in wonder flowers of gold
Upon her mantle and her sleeves,
And her hair like shadow following."

-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion

Welcome to Tinuviel's Dance, a space that I created upon graduating from college in May of 2014.  My goals for this blog are for it to be a creative outlet for myself and an inspiration for discussion with others.  I view it as an online scrapbook of sorts, a record of my thoughts, life events, and other activities and pursuits.

The inspiration behind the blog's title lies with my husband, Jeffrey, who knows the works of J.R.R. Tolkien as no one else whom I've ever met does.  When he introduced me to The Silmarillion, I immediately fell in love with the story of Beren and Luthien Tinuviel, a story that we find reminiscent of our relationship as it has progressed over the years.  Meeting Jeffrey was a life-changing moment (though neither of us knew this at the time), and it signified a fresh start for both of us, just as this blog does for me now.

I look forward to getting to know you!  God Bless!

Blessings,

Bonnie
